      Replying to PMs

Please note that you can not reply to a personal message by replying to the notification email. Recently admins have received some email responses to personal messages. This is because some members have replied to the notification email. You can not reply to a personal message via the email. What replying to the notification email does is send a copy of the original message and the reply to the admin email address. It does not send your reply to the person who sent you the message. The email notification of the personal message does request "PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL!"

New Members and validating your account.

New members registering please do not hesitate to contact our admin if you do not see a validation email within a few minutes of registering. Yahoo and some other email addresses tend to block the validation email and without this part of the process your account remains in limbo. Our admins are more than happy to help you complete the validation process should this automated system fail. We can be contacted via admin.our.place@gmail.com Please note that you may experience a delay between registering your account and validating before you are able to post as we do also manually process all registrations to keep this forum free of spam. Your account should be activated within 24 hours of you completing the validation process. Thank you.

Posting privately

So many people check the other forums?  I posted something on here yesterday but deleted because my husband is very good at finding things on the internet. I posted again in the sex forum but the last time I posted there didn't get much response. I was just curious where we could post privately but get more responses.

Anywhere on the internet is not really private. If you posted here he would have to prove it was you and I do not think any judge would let him use it as evidence it more hearsay. We are good for advice but people can give similar stories and it is not the same person. I had my abuser stalking me and following me on Facebook sites attacking me. He did this to try and shut down my honesty. So people could not put things together. I am a big believer in living with some truth. Truth has never helped me make friends or get ahead. It has kept me alive and gave other people in my life understanding so they had ground to stand.

Give Nick names to people.
never write areas.
ask advice and take out things that can link you to it.
You can alway delete your profile but if someone quotes you it is in their text.
I would think the true trick is more when you can write and when you can read in private.

Hope it helps!

Thanks. I did already change my name on here. I have been trying to post less identifiable information. The post I made yesterday was a very specific event that if he found would for sure know it was me. He found out of a few weeks ago I was actually considering leaving based on something he looked at online. I thought things were more private that they were but I guess not. I may be being overly cautious but just trying to play it safe.

What about Private Messaging people rather than posting on the main forum?

I went and read it and commented there but I'll say it here too. I know how you feel. It's confusing. and hard to admit to yourself when things go on long enough they seem "maybe" normal. But that is abuse. 100%
